Jamiriquio at Bowlero May 2005

This little boy is one determined kid. He is facing many obstacles and is surmounting them all with a tireless diligence. Jamiriquio needs an active family and a family who is close to or has reasonable access to a complete medical facility.
Jamiriquio is a funny, outgoing, silly little boy who loves to be on the go, especially if that means being involved in sports. He especially likes playing basketball and football. Jamiriquio is in a special education classroom and is in the first grade. He has a limited attention span and Jamiriquio functions best in one-on-one or small group situations. His fine motor skills are delayed, but he is working on improving them through tasks such as cutting with a scissor and putting puzzles together. Jamiriquio is making progress, but he is still behind his grade and age level.

Jamiriquio was born with a myriad of health problems that were an ongoing discovery for doctors. He has been diagnosed as having Klippel-Fiel Syndrome, scoliosis and a right chest deformity. Jamiriquio also has a hole in his heart, for which he had surgery. He has recovered well and continues to have ongoing check-ups with many specialists. Jamiriquio has also experienced severe dental troubles. On the whole, Jamiriquio is doing quite well since his medical needs have been met.

Jamiriquio loves to make people laugh and smile. He never lets his disabilities stop or slow him down. Jamiriquio has a good potential for meaningful attachment with an adoptive family, provided his move is carried out thoughtfully.
