Mark at the Domes
February 2003

Mark is an articulate, outgoing and friendly child who thrives when given an abundance of individual attention. He has shown a lot of resilience thus far and has a pleasant personality.
Mark has asthma and uses an inhaler when needed. The winter and summer months seem to aggravate his condition the most – especially if Mark overexerts himself. He is also taking mediation for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). While he has spent some time in an exceptional education classroom in the past, Mark is currently enrolled in a regular education classroom. He struggles academically and would benefit immensely from a family who is willing to take the time to help him with schoolwork.

Mark enjoys spending time with other kids; however, he doesn’t always interact well with them. For example, he can be a follower, which has gotten him into trouble in the past. He likes to play video games, roller skate, go fishing and play basketball. Even so, Mark can experience periods of lethargy. He has been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), but his adoption worker believes that he will be able to attach well if given the right match. Mark is eager to find a permanent home and, with the appropriate support and preparation, he should be able to make the transition smoothly.
