Kenya at Mayfair Mall September 2004

Kenya is a personable, polite, positive person to be around. She wants to be adopted and she needs a family who can provide her with structure and positive reinforcement. Kenya likes to stay busy, so an active family would suit her best. However, she does not care for animals, so a home with pets is not recommended.
Aside from asthma and the need for glasses, Kenya is in good health. She is attending an alternative school and her teachers report that Kenya is doing well with regard to academics and good behavior. She has a good sense of humor and can display a high level of respect for the adults in her life. Although, admittedly, Kenya does sometimes get angry over, what she calls, little things. She can be verbally and physically aggressive. In addition, she says that there are times when she doesn’t get along with others and times when she feels her attitude is poor. In most situations, problems with her peers occur when she is in large groups. Kenya is attending therapy, so her adoptive family will need to be understanding of her need to continue in counseling and be willing to help her work through issues as they arise.

Kenya likes to be out in the community and she has said that keeping busy helps her focus her energies in positive ways. She likes computers, roller skating, going to the library and she even enjoys ironing clothes! Kenya is very interested in fashion and enjoys matching her clothes into new outfits and having her colors coordinated.
