Jovan at Fun World April 2004

Jovan has a friendly, helpful and outgoing personality. He’s very active, he gets along well with other children and he loves to hang out with his friends. However, Jovan can be easily influenced and he strongly needs the guidance and attention of a permanent family to ensure he is making the right choices and following the right group of friends. In short, Jovan needs a devoted and caring family to help him overcome the obstacles he has already faced and the ones he is facing now.
Jovan likes going to school and his teachers report that he is an enthusiastic and creative student. However, at times, he can be disrespectful to authority figures and his peers. Jovan is working with an education plan and is taking medication for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He is dealing with some feelings of hurt, sadness and disappointment regarding adoption and past foster care providers who were not interested in adopting him. Jovan is not currently involved in therapy, but it is probable that he will be returning to therapy in the near future.

Rap music, sports and video games are some of Jovan’s interests. Jovan’s adoption worker feels confident that he will be able to settle in and possibly attach if the right family match is made for him.
